Winter can make you and the body very lethargic. You can change all that if you give more attention to the food you eat such as warm and cooked meals, warm water, juices, light tea and some exercise can all be very helpful in taking care of your skin. Cleanse your face daily with your favorite cleanser every night which making your skin more supple and beautiful.

Here are some suggestions for protecting your skin and hair:

1. The skin on your hands is thinner than in other areas of your body, and it needs extra protection and care. Make sure that after washing your hands you dry thoroughly and use a good hand cream. Wearing gloves outdoors will also protect them and keep your skin soft.

2. Elbows, knees, and feet are completely covered in the winter months, and usually forgotten until spring. Clothing and boots can cause friction that creates a buildup of thick skin. A good scrubbing with a natural lofah sponge, followed by a rich cream will remove any problems here.

3. Sun protection is very important in the winter months, just as it is year-round. Many people forget to use sunscreen, but sun reflects off snow and ice, and you can actually get double the sun exposure.

4. Protect your lips with a good lip balm, and avoid licking your lips as much as possible, since that will cause your lips to crack and chap. If you get a bad case of chapped or cracked lips, use some Vaseline Intensive care before bed, and you should be good to go in the morning.

5. Winter winds and low humidity are also hard on your hair, and using a rich, deep hair conditioner is important to restore moisture to your hair.

6. One way to keep your skin in great shape is getting a massage. You don’t have to go to a specialist for this: just get out your favorite massage oil and ask a family member to give you a quick massage. Then relax and enjoy the experience and the benefits.

Here are some of the best natural beauty ingredients available for winter skin and hair care:

Baking Soda – can be used as a deodorant, bath powder, or tooth whitener. Mixed with water, it helps remove residues from hairstyling products, making your hair clean and shiny.

Beans – Finely ground until powder-like, beans make a great cleanser for your face and body: just add the powdered beans to your favorite cleanser and massage into damp skin. Dry beans are rich in protein, potassium and iron, all good ingredients for healthy skin.

Citrus Fruit – contains citric acid, which kills bacteria on the skin. Also, the fresh scent is a known energizer. Rinse your hair with lemon juice mixed with water when you hair is dull and tired.

Maple Syrup – can be used as a facial mask, or hair conditioner, and it’s one of the best natural moisturizers. For best results, make sure you look for syrup marked 100% pure.

Tea Tree Oil – this oil has very powerful antibacterial and antiviral qualities, and it’s easily absorbed by the skin.

Finding organic skin care product nowadays is indeed a difficult thing to do. However, there are ways wherein you can still find these products. One method is to go to your all natural, holistic store in your area. A holistic store is where you can find all natural skin care products, which are certified organic too. You will be able to find organic product as well.

If there is no holistic store near you, then you can always make use of the Internet in finding an organic skin care product. There are various Internet-based holistic stores that offer a wide array of organic and all natural skin care products. They also provide natural supplements and hair care products. As long as you know what you are looking for, these Internet stores can bring you the product you want in a zap. Another benefit is that there is no need for you to travel to shop. You can do your shopping online at the comfort of your own home.

Another way to find quality organic skin care product is to visit your local crafts mall. You can also find them in local crafts fair. You can find the best and highest quality organic skin care products in these places. In fact, these products are often produced and processed at home. So you don’t have to worry about any harsh chemicals or synthetic preservatives. Of course, when buying a handmade organic skin care product, ask the vendor about the ingredients used in the products. If he or she refuses, simply walk away and don’t buy it.

Another thing to consider when buying an organic skin care product is its shelf life. All natural and organic skin care products do not have chemical preservatives in them, which makes their shelf life a bit shorter than their counterparts. So when you buy these products online, check the date when the product was processed. And once you acquired it, it is best to use the organic skin care product at once.

Physical therapy is the most popular choice of treatment by most doctors. Once inflammation is taken away, the concern is making sure the tendons and muscles are able to get back in place and heal properly.

Physical therapy is also multifaceted in that it can also bring about mental relief. Yes, there are quite significant mental benefits from physical therapy. An efficient physical therapy massage can relieve a person of much tension. A physiotherapy massage can ease the nerves and the muscles. It ensures that the circulatory system functions properly. This can bring about tremendous relief and relaxation, not to mention numerous health benefits. But it is critical that physical therapy is not used as a stand alone treatment. Physiotheraoy must be applied based on a sound medical diagnosis of the ailment. For instance, a person is suffering from pain in their wrist.

Strength training can help rebuild lost bone mass by increasing the blood flow to bones. Rebuilding bone mass is especially important for women who are suffering from osteoporosis. Additionally, strength training and exercise can help reduce the symptoms of arthritis, depression, type II diabetes, sleep disorders, and heart disease. Even individuals who are currently considered “home-bound” can benefit from exercise and strength training.

Regular massages from untrained individuals may prove beneficial in some ways, but in the long run and more bang for the buck, physical therapy very much eats the competition for lunch. The benefits of physical therapy depend greatly on the treatment methods that physical therapists utilize. Some examples are joint mobilization, soft tissue release, trigger point release, manual therapy, myofascial stretching, muscle re-education, modalities, therapeutic exercise, re-conditioning program, specific strengthening of weak muscles, and a home exercise program to name a few. These methods are not only far superior to indiscriminate kneading and pounding, but proof of the scientific nature of physical therapy. The benefits of physical therapy are not only for instant gratification in terms of comfort, but the benefits are a long term solution for afflictions, a lasting cure for those who need it.

If you are overweight, a dietary plan will be created to reduce the stress of excess weight on supporting joints of the back, legs and feet. (As yet, no specific diet — other than a diet designed for weight loss — has proved helpful for arthritis.)

One of the best things that you can to do lower cholesterol is to quit smoking and decrease the amount of fatty foods in your diet. For most people, the best way to lower cholesterol is to reduce their intake of saturated fats and to increase physical activity.

To lower cholesterol naturally, diet and exercise are imperative. Diets rich in beans, peas, rice bran, barley, oat bran, whole grains, citrus fruits and apple pulp can help lower cholesterol levels, especially when additionally cutting back on animal products and fats. Diet can be a very effective tool for lowering blood pressure.

Exercise decreases the bad LDL-cholesterol

Surely, you’ve already asked you these questions: Those higher cholesterol is treating with herbs, good food, exercises or drugs. Exercise decreases the bad LDL-cholesterol and increases the”good” HDL-cholesterol.

Exercise, not smoking and a high-fiber diet low in cholesterol and fat will improve your cholesterol count. Exercise itself doesn’t directly lower cholesterol, but will strengthen the heart and entire circulatory system. Exercise can apparently help keep a fat person healthy and maintain lower cholesterol levels, keep bad cholesterol levels down, without massive dietary changes, nor having to lose weight.

Lower cholesterol is important to living a long and healthy life, one that is free from heart disease or stroke. You should also maintain a healthy lifestyle through diet, exercise, and weight maintenance.

As you know, there are populations that have lived healthy lives on all meat diets and populations that have lived healthy lives on all vegetable diets. Some people’s bodies are simply genetically predisposed to make a lot of cholesterol; it doesn’t matter whether they eat a perfect diet or are a healthy weight.

The good news is, you can lower your cholesterol naturally by taking responsibility over your body and your health and award yourself with a complete lifestyle makeover. There are natural herbs, vitamins and minerals that can help lower LDL cholesterol and raise HDL cholesterol in the body.

Research shows that improvement results can be dramatic if you were to strongly consider the combined use of regular exercises and the regular use of nutritional supplements, which are clinically proven to lower cholesterol naturally with no side effects.

The most effective way to lower cholesterol when excercise and good food do not work sufficiently, is with drugs and / or herbal dietary supplements. However, there are quite a number of supplements that have been clinically proven to lower cholesterol.

Most of the cholesterol in our blood is made within our bodies, by the liver. And that’s where CRESTOR (rosuvastatin calcium) comes in. CRESTOR works by blocking an enzyme in the liver. It reduces the amount of LDL (bad) cholesterol produced by the liver and raises the HDL (good) cholesterol. Along with diet, CRESTOR can also slow the progression of atherosclerosis, the progressive buildup of plaque in the arteries over time, as part of a treatment plan in adults to lower cholesterol to goal.

Dementia is associated with major degradation of the human memory retention and other cognitive capabilities. Dementia is the main reason for impairment and death rate, and leads to an elevated anguish for patients and their families.Symptoms of dementia can be classified as either reversible or irreversible depending upon the etiology of the disease. Less than 10% of all dementias are reversible. Dementia is a non-specific term that encompasses many disease processes, just as fever is attributable to many etiologies.

Early symptoms of dementia often consist in changes in personality, or in behavior. Often dementia can be first evident during an episode of delirium. There is a higher prevalence of eventually developing dementia in individuals who experience an acute episode of confusion while hospitalized.

Dementia can affect language, comprehension, motor skills, short-term memory, ability to identify commonly used items, reaction time, personality traits, and executive functioning. Even without signs of general intellectual decline, delusions are common in dementia (15-56% incidence rate in Alzheimer’s type, and 27-60% incidence rate in multi-infarct dementia). Often these delusions take the form of monothematic delusions, like mirrored self-misidentification.

Elderly people can also react with dementia-like symptoms to surgery, infections, sleep deprivation, irregular food intake, dehydration, loneliness, change in domicile or personal crises. This is called delirium, and many if not most dementia patients also have a delirium on top of the physiologial dementia, adding to the symptoms.

The delirium can go away or greatly improve when treated with tender care, improved food and sleeping habits, but this does not affect the alterations in the brain. Affected persons may also show signs of psychosis or depression. It is important to be able to differentiate between delirium and dementia.

Proper differential diagnosis between the types of dementia will require, at the least, referral to a specialist, e.g. a geriatric internist, geriatric psychiatrist or neurologist. However, there are some brief 5-15 minute tests that have good reliability and can be used in the office or other setting to evaluate cognitive status.

Except for the treatable types listed above, there is no cure to this illness, although scientists are progressing in making a type of medication that will slow down the process.

If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself suffering from the problem of cataracts, you may be forgiven for thinking that the only way to improve your sight is to undergo lens replacement surgery. This, however, is no longer the case as there is a non-invasive alternative to cataract surgery in the form of a soothing eye drop called Can-C, this breakthrough eye drop quickly improved the visual acuity of over 90% of the cataract patients tested in controlled clinical trials.

But what are Can-C Eye Drops and are they better than opting for cataract surgery? To answer specifically you must prepare to be taken back a bit to a few of the science lessons you had at school.

It is known by researchers that the young and healthy human eye contains high levels of a natural di-peptide antioxidant called L-carnosine. Scientists recently learned that the eyes of those who were developing cataracts, and other degenerative ocular diseases, were found to be extremely lacking in this particular, and essential, ocular antioxidant.

In the United States, Cataracts have become an increasingly common cause of decreased vision as our population ages and lives longer. In fact Cataracts are the leading cause of vision loss among people over 55. This may be a reflection of the changing demographics of our population. In 2006, 80 million “baby boomers” began turning 60 and it is estimated that by 2011 there will be 40 million people above the age of 65 in our population-and by 2020 there will be close to 55 million!

Fortunately Cataracts are readily treatable. Cataract Surgeons and patients have benefited from advances in technology, making Cataract Surgery and Lens Implants one of the most frequently performed as well as one of the safest and effective types of surgery available in the United States today. In the United States, the incidence of age related Cataracts has been reported to be approximately 42% in those aged 52 to 64, 60% in those aged 65 to 74 and 91% in those aged 75 to 85.

Each year Cataract Surgeons in the United States provide Cataract Surgery to a growing number of patients. They successfully perform more than 3 million Cataract operations and restore vision after Cataract Surgery by implanting tiny, permanent artificial Intraocular Lens Implants or IOLs to achieve vision correction after surgery.

For most people, the cost of cataract surgery is partially or completely covered by private insurance or Medicare, making cataract surgery costs a manageable expense.

The technology of Cataract Surgery is truly amazing. Modern Cataract Surgery is usually performed using a microsurgical technique called “phacoemulsfication” whereby the Cataract is gently “chopped up” and “suctioned” to remove it. There are many technological advances in Phacoemulsification that have enabled skilled Cataract Surgeons to perform Cataract Surgery and provide Lens Implants through very tiny incisions requiring only eye drops, rather than needles or injections, for anesthesia and without the need for stitches or a patch after the surgery. This allows patients to have a very quick visual recovery. In most cases patients can have the added comfort and convenience of having their Cataracts removed in an outpatient ambulatory eye surgery center rather than a hospital.

So, that is the reason why there are several medical services companies which have been operating for many years and have sustained to be on the top with their services. One of them is listed below:

In 2008 the Medical Management Services Group, L.L.C., a physician practice management company, introduced Aboutcataractsurgery.com in order to provide patients with access to commercially unbiased patient education information in the areas of Cataracts, Cataract Surgery, Cataract Surgeons, Lens Implants and Cataract Surgery Centers. The site is intended to offer eye care patients, their families and caregivers information to be used in conjunction with examination and consultation provided by an eye care specialist, in order to help patients have a greater understanding of their condition and treatment options so that they can make informed choices. To that end, the site is intended to help patients identify Cataract Surgeons and Cataract Surgery Centers offering diagnosis and various treatment options for Cataracts and an opportunity to learn about their experience, interests and credentials.

Although patients with Cataracts today should be reassured that the technology of Cataract Surgery & Lens Implants along with the comfort, convenience and sophistication of outpatient cataract surgery centers can provide a safe and effective Cataract Surgery experience, the single most important choice one will need to make is in the selection of a Cataract Surgeon. Their expertise and experience is still the key to providing the best possible vision correction results and outcomes after the removal of Cataracts.

By using the information available in this website to learn about Cataracts, Cataract Surgery, Lens Implants, Cataract Surgeons and Cataract Surgery Centers you are taking the first step to becoming an educated patient who is able to make informed decisions about their eye care.

Caregivers tend to be women but many men do an excellent job as well. When looking for someone to take care of an aging family member consider these things:

· Where will your elderly relative want to live? Most people are more comfortable staying in their own home. Even if they have only lived there for a short time it is the place they call home and they do not want to move. If they have lived in their home for many years it may be almost impossible to ask them to move. You do not want to ask your elderly relative to do something that may damage them psychologically. If they are already having physical health problems you should avoid compounding the problems.

· Will they be able to care for their personal hygiene needs, such as bathing and using the toilet? One of the most basic forms of independence we have is that of being able to care for our personal needs of bathing and toileting. To have to rely on a stranger’s help is difficult beyond belief.

Finding someone to act as a caregiver to our elderly relative may not be an easy thing to do. Older people become frustrated and angry when their independence and privacy are threatened. At times they may be hostile, cruel, or abusive to those who attempt to care for them. Conversely, caregivers to the elderly may react the same way back to the elderly.

Attempt to have a family member care for the older person. Someone who is known to them may be better equipped to handle the situation. Ask neighbors and agencies if they can recommend someone who has experience in elder care. Check all references to make sure the caregiver will act appropriately with your family member.

However, there are some brief 5-15 minute tests that have good reliability and can be used in the office or other setting to evaluate cognitive status.

Except for the treatable types listed above, there is no cure to this illness, although scientists are progressing in making a type of medication that will slow down the process.

A moderate but regular exercise program appears to be the key to staying young at any age. Exercise has been shown to have an amazing positive effect on almost every aspect of middle-aged health, from lowering blood pressure to raising endurance and alertness. Studies all over the world have shown that exercise during middle age can stabilize blood sugar levels and help control adult-onset diabetes. It also increases bone density, dramatically reduces cardio-vascular risk, and lowers cholesterol.

Exercise has even been demonstrated to be a significant factor in avoiding the onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Older adults who exercise at least three times a week are almost 40% less likely to be diagnosed with the disease than those who don’t exercise.

Another exciting finding is that there doesn’t seem to be any “cutoff” age for experiencing the benefits of regular exercise. Study participants from age 40 to 90 all showed measurable and even startling improvements in health, strength, and mental clarity as a result of exercise.

Even the most apparently age-related problems of all, menopause and andropause (or “male menopause”), respond favorably to a regular exercise program. Middle aged female study participants who exercised at least three times a week reported a marked reduction in the uncomfortable symptoms of menopause, and recent research by the New England Research Institutes in Massachusetts suggest that lack of exercise and the resulting weight gain can significantly increase the amount of testosterone men lose during middle age. By exercising regularly and maintaining fitness over 50, it’s possible that midlife men could improve mental clarity, increase energy, and enhance sexual function.

The best news of all is that realizing the dramatic benefits of over 50 fitness doesn’t require an intensive or rigorous regimen. Moderate exercise done regularly at least three times a week is enough to get the anti-aging process going.

Elder law attorneys address the legal issues that arise as a consequence of the aging process. Elder law is a rather large umbrella and covers the areas that are most practical to the problems that seniors face. Here are the top five ways that these lawyers can assist the elderly:

1. Elder Financial Abuse. These are cases where financial predators use undue influence, manipulation and coercion to take property and money from elders who have diminished mental capacity. The perpetrators can by anybody, but are usually family members, caregivers or friends who have the most access to the elder and are least likely to be challenged by outsiders.

2. Nursing Home Abuse. Abuse or neglect of a nursing home patient generally results from inadequate staffing where there are too many patients and not enough nursing assistants. Sometimes, this is a conscious policy on the part of the nursing home owner who puts corporate profit ahead of patient care. Fortunately, there are many legal remedies available to stop these wrongful acts and to compensate the elderly victim for injuries suffered.

3. Conservatorships. When an elder is no longer able to make sound financial and healthcare decisions, and no other alternatives are available, then a request can be made for the court to establish a conservatorship and appoint someone to have the legal authority to make such decisions. This is an involved process but provides a solution to assist an elder who can no longer protect them self.

4. Estate Planning. “Living trusts”, powers of attorney for financial and healthcare decisions, and wills are the primary documents that constitute a person’s estate plan. These written instructions assist the elderly client both during their lifetime and afterwards. A proper estate plan can also avoid the need to establish a conservatorship if the elder becomes unable to make sound decisions. These documents grant all of the legal authority needed to carry on the elder’s affairs – without having to seek court involvement.

5. Medi-Cal Planning. This term applies to California residents and involves the process of obtaining Medi-Cal benefits to pay the sky-rocketing costs of long term care in a skilled nursing facility. Planning involves three stages: (1) Thorough analysis of the client’s financial status to develop a written strategy to obtain eligibility, reduce any share of cost, and avoid recovery claims; (2) Execution of the written strategy; and (3) Completion of the application process. Medi-Cal law is complicated and requires a lawyer experienced in the nuances of the various rules and regulations.
